It’s you.

Su Yun slowly turned her head, her heart pounding with terror. When she saw He Mian’s handsome face, she felt both relieved and furious. So, last night hadn’t been a dream after all?!

“What are you—” she started, but He Mian silenced her with a kiss, his hands wandering with reckless intent.

Instinctively, Su Yun struggled, flailing her arms and legs.

He Mian pinned her down, his voice hoarse, “Don’t move.”

Su Yun began to realize what was happening—she didn’t want to move either, but he was the one who kissed her first.

“How did you get in here?” she managed to ask, the question left unfinished moments before.

“I climbed through the window,” He Mian breathed against her ear.

“Tasteless,” Su Yun muttered, but she believed him. Their apartment was on the ground floor; climbing in wouldn’t have been difficult for He Mian.

He Mian caught her earlobe between his teeth, then traced it with his tongue.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Su Yun yelped at the sudden sting.

“Well, I’ve already crossed the line, what’s one more?” He Mian’s interest was clearly piqued—a beauty in his arms; how could he resist doing something?

Su Yun squirmed away, “Let me go, I have to do my morning reading.”

“You read your text,” He Mian’s hands refused to be idle.

Su Yun emerged, freshly washed, to find He Mian fully dressed, standing by the window, checking his phone.

In the end, nothing had gone further—her rumbling stomach had saved her, and He Mian, amused, had surprisingly let her off.

Su Yun sized him up from head to toe. That face, those long legs, that build—it was undeniable he had all the right assets to attract women.

“What is it? Staring at me—have I bewitched you?” He Mian suddenly spoke.

Su Yun jumped in surprise. Did he have eyes in the back of his head, or was he a mind reader too?

“There’s only bread for breakfast. Want some?”

“Actually,” He Mian looked up at her, “what I want most is you.”

Impossible to communicate, Su Yun rolled her eyes.

She cracked the door open; the corridor was empty. Emma shouldn’t be up this early.

There were no classes on Monday mornings; Emma usually slept until noon. Still, Su Yun checked to be sure.

Seeing Su Yun so cautious, as if he were some kind of criminal, He Mian quietly stepped behind her. “What are you doing?”

Startled, Su Yun turned and pressed her finger to her lips. “Shh, why don’t you leave before my roommate wakes up?”

“I want breakfast,” He Mian replied, stepping back with his arms crossed.

“Stay in the room and don’t come out,” Su Yun instructed, grabbing some toast and milk before returning.

She heated the milk, ate a simple meal, and began listening to her reading material. Glancing at the man on the sofa, toast in one hand and milk in the other, she couldn’t help but marvel—such basic food, yet he managed to eat it with the air of dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

What a show-off.

Su Yun turned away and began her reading aloud practice.

He Mian listened to her, not understanding a word, but somehow feeling at ease. From his angle, he could see her slender profile.

When she finished, Su Yun slipped on her Bluetooth headphones and noticed He Mian had dozed off on the bed, still fully dressed.

She covered him with a blanket.

She needed to find a time to talk to He Mian, to settle once and for all when this shadowy relationship would come to an end.

Su Yun opened her laptop to work on her thesis. Her phone chimed with a WeChat notification.

She quickly turned off silent mode and saw it was Emma.

Emma: Su, is He Mian still here?

Su Yun gaped at the screen.

Su Yun: How did you know…?

Emma: He came looking for you yesterday. I let him in—and then he never came out.

Su Yun glanced over at He Mian, furious that he’d lied to her.

And Emma—letting a man into her room, just like that.

Su Yun: How could you let him into my room!

Emma: Aren’t you two friends? Did you enjoy last night…?

Su Yun was speechless. She’d hoped to bury this chapter of her life.

With no reply, Emma pressed on, wanting to meet He Mian—her idol.

Su Yun: He’s here.

Emma: Give me thirty minutes, I’ll be ready.

Su Yun: He’s taking his beauty sleep, take your time.

Emma: Su, did you wear him out?

Su Yun didn’t reply; Emma was simply too shameless.
