Chapter 113: The Autistic Child

What the hell?

Watching Zhu Xiyu clutching “Ghost Blows Out the Light” with delight, her face wary and defensive as if guarding against other contestants snatching it away, the onlooking competitors all widened their eyes in bewilderment.

When the five contestants who had been behind finally came gasping to the scene and saw that the comic and record were still untouched, their minds instantly froze. After a stunned moment or two, a few quick-reacting contestants screamed and lunged toward the prize.

After a while, Yu Xiaoxi held the comic in her hands and looked at Zhu Xiyu with some confusion. “Xiaoyu, why did you choose that one?”

“Why?” Zhu Xiyu smiled faintly. “That’s a trade secret; not telling you!”

Yu Xiaoxi suddenly felt uneasy. However, looking at the comic representing Zhang Hengge in her hands, her pounding heart finally settled.

Chen Xiuyuan had been watching the whole scene from the start. Seeing Zhu Xiyu be the first to arrive and choose “Ghost Blows Out the Light,” he couldn’t help but look at her with new respect.

“Group Three, get ready—”

This round was Liao Meiqi’s turn. Like Zhu Xiyu, the moment the whistle blew, Liao Meiqi dashed straight for “Ghost Blows Out the Light.”

Though not the first to reach it, almost no one around tried to compete with Liao Meiqi for it.

She successfully clutched “Ghost Blows Out the Light” to her chest, her smile radiant.

“That idiot, throwing away her own future just to perform with her brother.”

“I was really rooting for her to debut as the center, but now… sigh!”

“That Liao Yuan is really something, why did he have to get involved in this show? It’s just emotional blackmail.”

“Exactly, Liao Meiqi’s been ruined by her brother!”

“Her brother is crazy for fame!”

“Xie Yuqian’s debut can’t be far off now!”

“Usually I thought Shanzhi was just playing dumb to fool others, turns out she really is dumb…”

As the girls buzzed with gossip, the fourth group’s contestants took the stage one by one.

This time, the two popular contestants, Xie Yuqian and Ju Nianzhi, were in the same group.

Before the start, Ju Nianzhi suddenly shouted to the nameless contestants nearby, “I probably can’t outrun you all. Sisters, just so you know ahead of time, I won’t compete. I only want ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light.’ I’m not interested in the others. So, can you please leave ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light’ for me?”

Great, another idiot!

The watching contestants were speechless.

The other nameless contestants who started together waved magnanimously. “Alright, it’s on me!”

“I might accidentally grab ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light,’ but don’t worry, Nianzhi, I’ll trade with you! Hehe!”

“We’ll save ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light’ for you, but Ju Nianzhi, don’t you dare cheat! Or the sisters won’t let it go!”

“You need to try hard too. If you can grab the comic or record, I’ll swap it with you for ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light.’ Deal!”

Ju Nianzhi smiled with her eyes squinting, nodding eagerly.

Only Xie Yuqian looked hesitant.

She felt something was off!

Wait a minute!

Xie Yuqian suddenly realized something and looked shocked.

With Liao Meiqi and Zhu Xiyu in the group, the team shouldn’t be weak.

And if you add Ju Nianzhi…

Wow, this team is insanely strong!

Three of the top five contestants in one team?

Xie Yuqian realized this fact.

But the whistle blew again, and she had no time to think further—instinctively, she sprinted toward the record.

When she finally grabbed the record, she felt no joy.

“Thank you, thank you, sisters.”

Ju Nianzhi strolled over leisurely and picked up the last token of “Ghost Blows Out the Light,” smiling happily. “You’re all amazing!”

“Hehe, you’re welcome. Nianzhi, you have to work hard!”

“Looking forward to your stage performance!”

“Ah, how can I put this? You usually seem clever, but you always mess up at critical moments.”

The girls in the group gathered around Ju Nianzhi, looking at the silly younger sister with sympathy.

Ju Nianzhi patted her swollen chest, unconcerned. “I have fearless sacrificial spirit, you know!”

Soon, Chen Xiuyuan called the fifth group to get ready.

This time, the scene wasn’t just about snatching the comic or record.

Two girls dashed along the same path straight toward the location of the “Ghost Blows Out the Light” token.

So much so that they collided shoulder to shoulder!

“Ouch!”

A scream rang out as both girls fell to their knees on the floor.

But it wasn’t over—soon, both girls got up at the same time and crawled forward, using hands and feet toward the target.

In the end, the neglected “Ghost Blows Out the Light” was split between the two girls, each clutching one half fiercely, refusing to let go.

“Give it to me!”

“No, give it to me! I grabbed it first!”

“You’re lying! I clearly grabbed it first!”

This scene left the onlooking contestants dumbfounded.

What was more shocking was that these two girls were none other than Dou Jiajia from Thailand, ranked sixth on the likes leaderboard, and Jung Minah from Korea, ranked ninth!

Both were popular favorites!

The entire practice room fell silent at that moment.

Everyone’s eyes were wide as they watched the two top-seeded contestants kneeling awkwardly on the floor.

Their hands each gripped tightly to the left and right halves.

The watching contestants couldn’t believe it.

Because at the start, next to “Ghost Blows Out the Light,” the comic and record representing Zhang Hengge and Han Yu had been untouched.

Dou Jiajia and Jung Minah ran fast but ignored the comic and record, going straight for “Ghost Blows Out the Light”!

“What’s going on?”

“What happened?”

“Terrifying! Zhang Hengge and Han Yu were totally ignored!”

“Wait, Liao Meiqi, Zhu Xiyu, and Ju Nianzhi are in the same group?”

“Huh? Damn!”

“Add Dou Jiajia or Jung Minah, and that team is insanely strong!”

“No wonder everyone is fighting for ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light’…”

Everyone suddenly realized and gasped in amazement.

Chen Xiuyuan couldn’t tell who had touched “Ghost Blows Out the Light” first, so he reviewed the footage quickly.

The result came out fast.

“Jung Minah touched ‘Ghost Blows Out the Light’ first! Dou Jiajia automatically receives the green apple!”

After the decision, Dou Jiajia looked frustrated.

“Last group, group six, get ready—”

Under Chen Xiuyuan’s direction, the six groups formed quickly.

Liao Meiqi, Zhu Xiyu, Ju Nianzhi, Jung Minah, Chen Duo, and Fang Yiren naturally formed a group.

Chen Duo had grabbed “Ghost Blows Out the Light” in the first group. She originally wanted the comic or record, but with poor athleticism, she ended up with “Ghost Blows Out the Light,” feeling extremely disappointed, even hopeless.

But she never dreamed she’d get to perform a second time with five heavy-hitters!

Keep in mind, she was at the bottom of the rankings in the show.

And except for Fang Yiren, the other four were absolute seeded contestants.

The lowest ranked, Jung Minah, was still ninth on the likes leaderboard.

Even the last addition, Fang Yiren, was among the top twenty core members.

This dramatic turn left her stunned!

Now standing with five heavy-hitters beside her, Chen Duo trembled nervously, her mind blank.

Her previously complaining mouth was tightly shut—she almost became a withdrawn child!
