According to Lin Yang’s knowledge, the Twin Saints of Tianxing were named Ling Xiaotian for the male and Wen Qing for the female. Both had cultivated to the peak of the Nascent Soul stage. However, they had been trapped on Yuanci Mountain for nearly a millennium, unable to break through to the Transformation stage. Recently, in the past hundred years, their life span was nearing its end.

Lin Yang paid no mind to these matters. His sole purpose now was to come here and gather resources. There was no need to involve himself in their affairs.

Lin Yang and Shui Miao’er arrived at the New Palace. The entire exterior of the star palace was surrounded by imposing black walls—tall and majestic.

Upon reaching the city gate, when Shui Miao’er presented their family token, the guards at the entrance immediately allowed them inside. Although this was the residence of the Twin Saints of Tianxing, it remained a bustling place with many visitors; all those who had dealings with the star palace entered through here.

The reason was that the palace’s administrative offices were within, and most people needed to report to the Twin Saints of Tianxing to conduct any business.

“Immortal Shui may enter,” announced the guard after informing inside. Then he led Lin Yang and Shui Miao’er in.

Inside, despite the black decorations on the outside, even the artificial rocks were made from a peculiar refining material. The trees, flowers, and grasses were all various kinds of spirit materials, each capable of unleashing devastating power if taken elsewhere.

Yet here, they were displayed like ornamental treasures within the palace. This was the accumulated legacy of the star palace, passed down over thousands, even tens of thousands of years.

Though these trees, spirit materials, and divine artifacts were inherently priceless, Lin Yang’s keen eyes could immediately recognize them.

The palace contained many ancient materials long extinct in the outside world. The New Palace itself wasn’t heavily adorned, but the luxuriance of the flowers, plants, and trees spoke volumes.

“What are you staring at those flowers and plants for?” Shui Miao’er asked, surprised and somewhat puzzled by Lin Yang’s gaze toward the flowerbeds.

“Your vision is lacking; I’ll just be blunt,” Lin Yang said disdainfully, casting Shui Miao’er a sidelong glance.

“What did you say? Do you want to die?” Shui Miao’er snapped back, angered to the point of wanting to strike him, but restrained herself, remembering they were within the star palace.

“Then tell me what these are, that even our array masters admire them,” Shui Miao’er retorted sarcastically, pointing to the nearby flowerbed.

Lin Yang had no desire to explain further to Shui Miao’er, so a slight smirk curled his lips. With a humanized expression, he simply said, “Heh.”

This nearly broke Shui Miao’er’s composure, but she could only silently note the grudge.

“Hurry up. We don’t want the Twin Saints of Tianxing to grow impatient,” she said, quickening her pace and leading Lin Yang toward the innermost palace.

Although the palace was vast, there were surprisingly few guards. This made sense, as these two were the strongest beings in the entire Chaotic Star Sea—what need was there for many guards?

Even the palace maids were few, and the spiritual energy concentration here was nearly at the level of liquefaction, completely saturating the entire palace. It was evident that cultivating here would significantly accelerate progress.

Lin Yang, however, did not have the audacity to train in someone else’s home.

Following a path, they arrived at the largest palace, resplendent in gold and jade. Everything within, bathed in spiritual energy, shed the mundane grime of the mortal world.

When the guards outside saw Lin Yang and Shui Miao’er, they immediately opened the grand doors for them to enter the main hall.

Inside was a vast space composed entirely of an array. It was filled with various spirit trees and medicinal herbs, continuously producing spiritual energy and fostering growth.

The entire space constantly condensed spiritual energy; if placed outside, it would surely surpass even the Blood-Red Forbidden Land.

They followed the path through this space to a small house, where they knocked on the door.

“Senior Ling, this is Shui Miao’er of the Shui family, paying respects,” Shui Miao’er announced upon knocking.

After a moment, the door opened by itself, and they entered.

Inside, two people sat at a stone table, sharing tea intimately, their conversation carrying the warmth of added wine.

Beside them sat a young girl, cultivating her technique. Judging from her aura, she practiced a gentle, mild cultivation method.

In simple terms, it was a common technique used for transition or trial. Its chief characteristic was lacking any particular quirk; even cultivating openly in broad daylight would not cause deviation or madness.

Such methods were usually refined through the efforts of many lower-level cultivators, designed to be universally suitable for all people.

The two seated at the stone bench were a man and a woman. The man had long hair and sword-like eyebrows, wearing a powerful longsword across his back. He was dressed in white robes, with a white jade hairpin atop his head and several tokens at his waist. His appearance was strikingly handsome.

The woman wore a flowing red dress, her complexion rosy and radiant, resembling a newlywed bride. Her face was shy and delicate, a beauty that could be described as both captivating and ruinous.

Shui Miao’er stepped forward and bowed to both before introducing Lin Yang, who also bowed respectfully.

“This gentleman is a cultivator who crossed from the Boundless Sea. He is both an array master and a skilled alchemist. His name is Lin Yang.”

“Greetings, esteemed seniors. I am Lin Yang,” he said.

Ling Xiaotian nodded and said, “Indeed, the Shui family young lady has an eye for talent and beauty. No wonder you refused to marry that worthless lad if you wanted to live.”

Ling Xiaotian had misunderstood their relationship and teased lightly.

This was understandable, as Lin Yang appeared very young. It was hard to believe someone so young could be both an accomplished array master and a proficient alchemist.

He assumed Shui Miao’er was simply recommending her fiancé to secure a good position for him.

Nevertheless, Ling Xiaotian was surprised to learn that a rogue cultivator could reach such heights. Judging by Lin Yang’s appearance, he should have formed his core less than sixty years ago.

Such talent was exceptional, though Ling Xiaotian paid it little mind; over his millennium of life, he had encountered many like this.

Either they were too arrogant and eventually perished, or they remained stuck in the early or middle Nascent Soul stages.

The higher the realm, the more resources were needed. Fortune and influence were both indispensable.

He did not believe Lin Yang would pose a threat to either of them.

At most, he thought Lin Yang and Shui Miao’er might become another generation of Shui family patriarchs, ensuring the Shui family’s invincibility for a thousand years to come.
