Chapter 126: We Surrender
About thirty seconds later, the power flickered back on.
The sudden burst of light made Mo Shu frown. As his eyes adjusted, he realized that everyone was staring at him with looks of utter disbelief. Mo Shu steadied himself, scanned the crowd, and finally fixed his gaze on Wu Tianqi.
"Still want to keep dissing?" Mo Shu asked, keeping his tone as calm as possible.
Wu Tianqi did not answer; he simply pursed his lips and shook his head. The rapper who usually dared to challenge heaven and earth had suddenly turned timid.
"Senior, please don't be angry anymore, okay?" Mo Shu turned to his celebrity teammate, coaxing her as if she were a child.
The beautiful actress, Lin, opened her mouth as if to say something, but in the end, she swallowed her words and gave a gentle nod.
Nearby, the follow-PD, Xiao Lian, whispered to the cameraman, "Is it recording? Quickly, capture all of this!"
"What recording? My equipment is broken," the cameraman said, frantically fiddling with his device.
Xiao Lian was speechless. Could Mo Shu’s shout have actually fried the camera? She had to pin her hopes on the other follow-PDs and cameramen. Fortunately, with six groups of guests gathered here, there were five other production crews on site; it was unlikely that everyone's equipment had failed simultaneously.
Mo Shu overheard their hushed conversation and instinctively looked back, his gaze locking with the cameraman’s. A flash of terror crossed the cameraman's eyes, and he quickly turned his head away, not daring to meet Mo Shu's eyes again, as if he were looking at a monster.
Mo Shu shook his head, thinking, *I can't help it. If I don't unleash my ultimate move, none of you seem to care about me.*
"Okay, the matter is resolved. Let’s continue with the mission and keep filming," Mo Shu commanded, since no one else dared to speak.
However, the group seemed so immersed in the shock of the moment that no one moved.
"What? Are we done filming?" Mo Shu asked.
Only then did they jolt into action. The cameramen busied themselves with their equipment, and the follow-PDs pulled out their reality show scripts to plan the next segment.
The four members of the Dark Legion were the most amusing; they spun in circles like headless flies. What should they do? What was the next step? What stage of the game were they at?
*Oh, right, we just caught Mo Shu and the beautiful Lin.*
*Wait, no! Maybe we should just let them go. They’re a bit too much to handle.*
The two entertainment stars and two sports stars, all of whom had seen their fair share of the world, were left completely adrift by Mo Shu's "sonic attack."
Seeing the four of them in such a state, Mo Shu felt both amused and pitying. He stepped forward, trying to appear friendly. "The token you took from Lin and me hasn't been handed in yet. Here, take it."
This startled Sun Mina, who stood nearest to him. The 198cm-tall giantess froze, waving her hands while laughing awkwardly. "No, no, it was our fault for not apologizing. We should compensate you with another one instead."
As she spoke, Sun Mina fished another token from her pocket and pressed it into Mo Shu’s hand without further argument. She then gripped his extended right hand with both of hers and said, "Brother Mo! Don't be a stranger. Whenever you have the chance, teach me how you did that."
Mo Shu was slightly confused, but a moment later, he realized what she meant and chuckled. "Haha, it was just a coincidence. You took it too seriously."
Seeing that Mo Shu was unexpectedly approachable, Sun Mina added, "Brother Mo, you're being modest. If I had your aura just now, I’d be unstoppable on the court. I wouldn't even be afraid of them in the WNBA."
Mo Shu laughed for a long time. There was no way to respond to that; he couldn't exactly confess that he was backed by a system.
Seeing that the exchange was friendly, the others lowered their guard and crowded around.
"Exactly! If I had Brother Mo's overwhelming aura, I'd be invincible in the swimming lane!" Li Dai chimed in.
"That's right. If I had that kind of presence back when I was in the singing competition, I wouldn't have just settled for second place," Wang Liang said with envy. She was a talented singer, but she had lost the championship because of stage fright.
Finally, even Wu Tianqi snuck over to consult with him in a low voice. "Brother Mo, how did you train that skill? Teach me. I’m planning to add that move to the final line of all my freestyle battles. It's so cool!"
Soon, the staff joined in the commotion, shouting, "Start a training class, Master Mo! Teach people with stage fright how to boost their presence!"
"You'd make a fortune!"
"For sure! I'll be the first to sign up!"
"Can you keep the tuition reasonable? Our salaries as media workers aren't that high."
"Forget it, you follow-PDs are crying poverty—what about us cameramen?"
"Look at you, everyone knows you cameramen can take private gigs. Don't talk to us about income."
"Hey! Do you know how much effort it takes to land a private gig? Those clients are like demanding ancestors!"
The group bickered and joked, completely veering off-topic. Mo Shu listened, feeling both helpless and amused. *These people—why couldn't they be this lively when I was trying to be nice to them earlier?*
"Ahem..." Mo Shu, whose only goal was to finish filming and go home, put on a stern face and cleared his throat again.
*Whoosh.*
The scene went quiet again. This time, it wasn't because of shock, but because they thought Mo Shu was about to begin his teaching career.
"Everyone, please don't misunderstand. The power outage earlier was purely a coincidence. Can we please just finish today's work?" Mo Shu said, forcing a smile.
"Right, Brother Mo is right. Let's finish filming first," Li Dai was the first to agree.
"Understood, listening to Master Mo!" a cameraman held up his camera, which had finally started working again.
"Okay, let's finish the work, and then we'll ask Brother Mo for advice," Wu Tianqi said, still holding onto his fantasy of becoming Mo Shu's apprentice despite the "coincidence" explanation.
Mo Shu pushed through the crowd to Lin, who had been left waiting for a long time, and pushed her wheelchair toward the nearest museum exit.
"Senior, sorry for the wait. Let's speed up and go win the championship," Mo Shu said as they moved.
"I'm not in a hurry. It's a good thing you're so popular; it shows you have the ability to command respect," Lin said, genuinely happy for him.
"Senior, you flatter me. It was your persistent encouragement that woke me up." In his moment of triumph, Mo Shu didn't forget to give credit to Lin.
"Hehe, you have a sweet tongue. But tell me, have we collected all the tokens? You're rushing to the next stop already."
"We have. Sun Mina gave me one, and with the one Wang Liang didn't take earlier, that makes exactly ten!"
"Ha, that's great. I wonder if the Heavenly Kings team is ahead of us."
"Don't worry, Senior. Even if they are, I'm confident we can overtake them!"
"That's the spirit! Let's get to the next stop!"
"Hold on tight, Senior, I'm picking up speed!"
