Chapter Eighty-Three: The Flat-Chested Girl
The scar-faced young man and the fat middle-aged man clearly knew nothing of such things. They gave a cold laugh and said no more. By then Yanluo had noticed that both of them were level-three Modifiers; the fat man’s title above his head was Life Seizure, while the young man’s was Savage Slaughter.
Both wore scale armor.
Those titles practically reeked of killing intent.
Could he have run into some big shot from the evil faction?
Yanluo himself was currently wearing the adorably harmless title Zombie Hunter. To be honest, he was not as impressive as the horse he was riding.
Besides those two, there were two other Modifiers.
One was a young girl. At a glance she looked to be about twenty, perhaps a little younger. Her half-length hair had been dyed chestnut brown; her skin was lively and slightly tanned, and she had a pair of beautiful, bright eyes and a face one could take pride in.
She wore very little: a short vest, beneath it a flat belly without the slightest trace of softness, and below that a pair of tight denim jeans that clung to her perky hips and long legs.
Both her looks and her figure were alluring, the only flaw being her chest, which showed not the slightest sign of fullness. If not for the absence of an Adam’s apple at her throat, Yanluo would have suspected he had encountered a stunningly beautiful trap.
The title above her head was:
Weapon Master
The girl carried a great blade on her back. Including the hilt, it was nearly two meters long, a full foot wide. Near the tip there was a round hole in the blade, and the edge close to the hilt formed a semicircular curve. The gray blade was long and narrow, its sharpened edge flashing with a white sheen.
It was probably modeled after the execution sword from that knockoff ninja series.
But neither her title nor her weapon drew as much attention as the level floating above her head, the mark of a world Modifier: LV4! She was unmistakably a level-four existence. LV1 to LV3 were low-level Modifiers; LV4 was intermediate. That meant crossing the boundary depended not only on talent, but on other things as well.
Still, Yanluo had seen a LV5 Modifier before, Chen Beixue from his own school...
The girl’s expression was cold, as if she held everyone else in contempt, and stood apart by herself.
The other was a middle-aged man in his late forties. He had an ordinary face and a capable air. Above his head were the level and title LV3, Small Boss. That title was rather rare; titles could confer a boss template and greatly enhance life essence.
A boss’s greatest trait is simply having a huge health pool...
There were four people in all, five if Yanluo was counted. Oh—and a horse.
One LV4, three LV3s. No wonder that young man had said, “You’re the weakest of everyone who came this time.”
Yanluo surveyed the scene.
A polluted zone.
And a fantasy pollution at that: a region of the inner world and the outer world had overlapped in space and time. Although only a small area had been affected, this entire place had become utterly unfamiliar.
This was a residential district in the city: Evergreen Oasis. There were roads, shops, and rows of apartment buildings. The roads were covered in fleshy organic matter like the creep from Starcraft, and the lawns were full of jagged rocks. Besides the flowers and plants of Earth, clusters of crystal were also growing here and there.
The artificial river inside the district had become a stretch of yellow-brown sand, splitting the Evergreen Oasis complex in two.
Most bizarre of all, Yanluo found strange structures nearby: about two stories high, made of crystal, blue in color, and from time to time threads of blue light flowed across them. And far away—in the other end of the district—there was another crystal structure, this one red.
“This is what happens when space and time overlap? When a region of the inner world and a region of the outer world merge?”
A polluted zone. It really was strange.
He noticed people inside the district—ordinary people, that is. Many stood behind the windows of residential buildings, looking down. Clearly, the strange transformation of the Evergreen Oasis complex, together with the odd-dressed people here—the man in scale armor, the girl with the great blade, the boy riding a horse—was utterly baffling to them.
Just then, another ripple rose nearby, like the surface of water struck by a stone. It was the vibration of the temporal membrane. Seeing the incoming Modifier, both the scar-faced young man and the fat middle-aged man drew a sharp breath.
LV5!
Because the beginner area in Dreamspace was separated from the intermediate and advanced zones, low-level Modifiers rarely saw anyone above LV3. Today, not only had they encountered a LV4 Weapon Master, but there was even a LV5 presence.
Yanluo’s gaze fell at once upon two ripe, full, yet somehow never drooping and still upright melons.
Chest recognition told him it was Chen Beixue.
His eyes moved upward. A snow-white, delicate face. It was indeed the hidden big shot from school—the 170-centimeter-tall LV5 girl. But this time the title above her head was not Breasty and Kindhearted. Just as Yanluo’s own title had been changed from the ridiculous I Am a Legend to Zombie Hunter, hers had become Miracle Hands.
“It’s you? You big-chested woman!” The Weapon Master girl, who had been quietly standing off to the side, instantly bristled the moment she saw Chen Beixue appear. The tan-skinned girl’s eyes flew wide open, her fists clenched, and her eyes seemed ready to spit fire.
“Huh? Oh, it’s you, airport. We meet again.” Chen Beixue stared back with her beautiful eyes, looking almost delighted.
“Don’t call me airport! Flat chests are a scarce resource. Someone like you is a heretic! You damned heretical flesh-and-blood woman!” The Weapon Master girl’s teeth ground together with a creaking sound.
“Oh my, my chest being this big really is causing trouble for other people, isn’t it? I’m sorry for being this big-chested. In truth, it troubles me too. When I’m doing homework I have to rest my chest on the desk first; when I’m using the computer, if I’m not careful I’ll brush the space bar. Before I became a Modifier, sometimes I had to stop walking and set my chest on the roadside railing to take a break...”
“Last time I jumped hard while playing basketball, and both my breasts almost flew right off. Oh my... you can’t imagine how that feels. It’s truly so troublesome. I really wish my chest could be a little smaller. Even an airport like you would be fine, hohoho...”
With her laughter, Chen Beixue’s chest shook violently, sending out wave after wave of ripples.
Zzzzt, zzzzzzt...
The Weapon Master girl’s delicate face had already twisted. Her eyes were blood-red, her chestnut hair whipping wildly in the wind that did not exist, and strands of blue electric arcs crackled across her body.
“Stop showing off in front of me, bastard! Die, die, die, die, die, die...”
“I’ll crush you!”
The girl, flashing with wild lightning, suddenly lunged at Chen Beixue. With both hands she viciously grabbed toward those two upright melons. Seeing the motion, Yanluo fell into thought. Wasn’t that the move he had once used in the sports arena world—the Breast-Grabbing Dragon Claw Hand?
Only this time it came with thunder and lightning.
Could Chen Beixue, a level-five Modifier, withstand the furious strike of a level-four? And even if she could endure it... looking at the veins bulging on the girl’s curled hands, if she squeezed with all her might, would juice burst out?
