Chapter Seventy-Two: The End
This woman actually began fighting Qi Guanbei right in the midst of the formation!
With the support of the formation, the tides shifted, and Liya found herself at a disadvantage.
Liya let out several cries of pain. Xiao Zhang, distracted, looked up and saw the woman, hair disheveled, coughing up blood twice in quick succession.
Her night attire was now torn in several places, with gashes across her shoulder and waist.
Some wounds had already broken through her defenses, and blood was beginning to seep out.
“Why are you looking at me? Don’t get distracted!” Liya gritted her teeth and raised her sword once more, thrusting it at Qi Guanbei, forcing him to stay between herself and Xiao Zhang.
“Ahhh!” Xiao Zhang roared with all his strength, veins bulging on his forehead, and managed to break another beam of light.
In the distance, Liya was forced back by a strike from Qi Guanbei’s sword. Furious, she unleashed a powerful skill.
Her swords burst into golden light as she gripped them tightly.
Liya swung her twin blades, Qi Guanbei sneered, stepping back, one hand gripping his sword hilt, the other supporting the blade, until a low hum echoed.
Qi Guanbei was struck clear out of the six-pointed star formation, but the blow seemed not to harm him at all.
“Damn it!” Liya cursed, and slashed at the pillar of light behind her.
With one strike, she severed two beams. She exhaled, swaying, and was about to raise her sword again when Qi Guanbei lunged forward once more.
This time, Qi Guanbei was wreathed in a surge of crimson energy, and the dragon horns on his head had fully formed.
Liya barely fended off Qi Guanbei, but in the gap between her attacks, he gathered power and threw a punch at Xiao Zhang.
Liya took the blow for Xiao Zhang, then crashed through another beam and was flung into the wall of the grand hall.
“Xiao Zhang! Hurry!” Liya lay on the ground, struggling, shouting hoarsely.
Xiao Zhang eyed the last remaining pillar, gritting his teeth, bracing himself against Qi Guanbei’s attacks, and rammed into it.
With a thunderous explosion, the entire formation shattered, and Xiao Zhang was blown away by the shockwave.
Through the flames, Qi Guanbei emerged, sword in hand, stepping through fire. His dragon robe was burned away, and his body bore signs of scorching.
“Damn, just one step short!” With that, Qi Guanbei collapsed to the ground.
“Xiao Zhang!” Liya shouted, catching Xiao Zhang as he was thrown toward her, and together they crashed into the wall.

Hidden quest completed: Mysterious Grand Pack x1 received.
...
Xiao Zhang climbed off Liya, glancing at the fair expanse of her chest, then wiped the blood from his own face.
Liya coughed violently, spitting blood aside, then forced herself upright and staggered to Xiao Zhang’s side, looking at his bloodied face. “You okay, kid?”
Xiao Zhang looked at Liya, swallowed blood, and replied, “It’s nothing serious.”
He inadvertently caught sight of that delicate, pale cleavage, and quickly looked away. “Check on Qi Guan, see how he’s doing.”
“Looks like he’ll be fine,” Liya seemed to notice Xiao Zhang’s earlier glances and changed into a new protective outfit.
Xiao Zhang patted Qi Guanbei’s face, “He won’t die in this instance, will he?”
Liya chuckled, “Impossible. Unless someone takes the opportunity to finish him off within five minutes. Are you planning to?”
Xiao Zhang forced a smile, “Do I look like I’ve lost my mind?”
Seeing Xiao Zhang’s odd expression, Liya smiled, “Alright, he’ll be fine.”
“Damn, why isn’t this guy breathing?” Xiao Zhang, startled, slapped Qi Guanbei several times.
Liya suppressed a laugh, “If you want revenge, you don’t have to go this far.”
Qi Guanbei coughed, then slowly regained consciousness. He looked at his hand in front of his face, shuddered, and sprang to his feet, exclaiming, but promptly collapsed again, feeling as though his head were about to explode.
After a couple of slaps to his own head, Qi Guanbei recalled that while invoking the spirit, he’d accidentally let the BOSS possess him.
...
“By the way, how many points did you get for your contribution?” Xiao Zhang asked.
“Three thousand,” Liya replied coolly.
Xiao Zhang forced a bitter smile. Why did he only get 10 points?
“Thank you!” Qi Guanbei expressed his gratitude to Liya; without her, he would surely have been done for.
System prompt: This instance is now complete. Players may leave at will.
Liya nodded, “Let’s go.”
Xiao Zhang sensed something insincere in Liya’s words and asked, “Won’t you leave your contact info?”
“You won’t get a girl’s contact info with that approach,” Liya giggled. She walked over, gently hugged Xiao Zhang, and whispered in his ear, “You’re an interesting guy. Maybe we’ll meet again in a future instance. Next time, if you dare peek at my chest again, I’ll hit you.”
With that, Liya stepped back, waved at the blushing Xiao Zhang.
A green light descended from the heavens onto Liya, and she vanished.
“What are you spacing out for?” Qi Guanbei rubbed his head, puzzled by his sudden gain of over two thousand points. “Let’s go!”
Two beams of light fell from the sky, landing on Xiao Zhang and Qi Guanbei, and both vanished from the Emperor Qin’s main hall...
Xiao Zhang and Qi Guanbei emerged from the green light, glanced around, and found it was still a pitch-black night.
Qi Guanbei was immediately picked up by two people, but he left Xiao Zhang his phone number, telling him to get in touch when he had time.
Xiao Zhang hurriedly fetched his phone from storage, called Zhao Bai, but found Zhao Bai was at another exit, while Mo Xiaoxiao was on this side.
Mo Xiaoxiao, dressed in a hoodie, stood beside a black SUV. The straight-haired girl watched the park entrance nervously in the night. When Xiao Zhang appeared, Mo Xiaoxiao called out to him and rushed over.
Xiao Zhang forced a smile, “Let’s go.”
He spoke slowly, “Zhao Tai and the others haven’t come out yet... The instance is over; Zhao Tai and the others should still be behind. Call Zhao Bai immediately, tell him we’re out, and remind him to watch for Zhao Tai and his group. If they’re at the north gate, let us know right away.”
Mo Xiaoxiao instantly turned to the car to grab her phone and call Zhao Bai.
Xiao Zhang stood by the car, gazing into the park...
