Chapter 19: Aunt’s Kindness, Nephew’s Filial Piety (Welcome Readers from All Walks of Life to Create a New World Together)
Yi Rongkun licked her lips and swallowed hard. "Chunchun, bring another bowl. I want to share this with you and Tiantian."
The aunt and her niece and nephew happily shared the freshly prepared milk powder.
Not only were the three of them enjoying the rich, fragrant taste, but the audience watching through the interstellar live stream—who could smell and taste it via their five senses—were also immensely satisfied.
[Oh my goodness, what kind of divine flavor is this? It’s absolutely delicious!]
[Another day of wanting to trade with the Little Ancestor. Please, Little Ancestor, look at the chat and trade with us soon!]
[After tasting the food and drinks from the Little Ancestors, I realize that the decades I've spent consuming nutrient paste are a total joke.]
[I never knew such delicious things existed in the world. What is this "milk powder" made of? I want it so badly!]
[Little Ancestor, I don't need much, just enough to make one cup. I’ll trade you a genetic serum for it!]
[Hey, don't be reckless! If a genetic serum appears in the era where the Little Ancestor lives, it will only bring trouble upon her.]
[Right, right. I checked the historical records; there was a period when our ancestors' basic technologies were heavily restricted by external forces, making social development extremely difficult. How about we trade something else?]
[Whatever we trade, let's not repeat items so we don't cause the Little Ancestor to lose out.]
[Hey, you guys are chatting away, but does anyone know when we can actually trade with the Little Ancestor?]
[Regardless of when, let's discuss it now so we aren't caught off guard if she can see our messages and decides to trade.]
[That makes sense. I should start organizing my resources to see what’s worth trading with the Little Ancestor.]
[Oh, thank you for the reminder! I need to check my own inventory, and we can coordinate in the fan group later.]
[Exactly. Let's communicate what we have so the Little Ancestor doesn't get stuck with duplicates and decide not to trade with us anymore.]
After finishing their milk, Yi Rongkun and her nephew and niece began doing their homework in the room. This was a space specially arranged by her parents to facilitate her studies without attracting outside attention. They even provided a lamp with plenty of kerosene to ensure she wouldn't strain her eyes while studying, repeatedly reminding their little girl to keep the flame bright.
Seeing their little aunt studying, the niece and nephew felt an urge to join in. Their little aunt looked so impressive when she wrote. Unfortunately, their learning progress wasn't as fast as hers, which left the two children feeling a bit lost.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host Little Ancestor. Under your careful guidance, your niece and nephew have developed a keen interest in learning."
The system's voice chimed in at the perfect moment. "The system is now issuing a new task: please ensure your niece and nephew maintain their interest in learning."
"Upon completion, you will be rewarded with an eye-friendly solar-powered lamp. Please complete this according to your circumstances."
Yi Rongkun: "Bucket, what is 'interest'?"
System: "Interest means that when you do something, you feel happy and fulfilled, and you feel like something is missing if you don't do it every day."
Yi Rongkun didn't fully grasp the definition, but she understood that it meant being happy while doing it. She turned her head toward her niece and nephew. "Chunchun, Tiantian, do you like learning?"
"Yes!"
Hearing their little aunt's question, the two nodded vigorously. "We love learning!"
"Then..."
Yi Rongkun thought for a moment, opened her pretty little schoolbag, and took out two small notebooks and two pencils, handing them out. "Do you remember the words I taught you last night?"
The two siblings looked at each other. "..." Did they remember or not?
"Don't you remember?"
Seeing their reaction, Yi Rongkun wasn't angry. "Then I'll teach you again, and then you can review it yourselves, okay?"
"Mm-hmm."
The siblings nodded eagerly, signaling they understood. Yi Rongkun patiently retaught them the Pinyin characters from the night before, guiding their small hands as they wrote. Once finished, she let go. "Now, copy these words, read them as you write, and keep them in your heads, understand?"
"Okay!"
The siblings agreed happily, clutching their pencils and tracing crooked characters in their notebooks. As they wrote and read aloud, their earnest expressions made Yi Rongkun feel like a little adult as she praised them: "Chunchun and Tiantian are doing so well."
Encouraged, the siblings grew even more enthusiastic and focused. Watching them, Yi Rongkun felt a sense of satisfaction and buried her head back into her own homework. Her work wasn't too difficult, and as she got into the rhythm, she finished quickly. Seeing the two children still practicing the Pinyin she had taught them, she told them to stop for a moment. "Chunchun, Tiantian, let me test you."
"If you get them right, I'll reward you with a piece of candy. How does that sound?"
"Great! Go ahead, Little Aunt."
The siblings immediately put down their pencils, looking at her with anticipation. They certainly didn't just want the candy—they were purely passionate about learning. Seeing their cooperation, she began to check their progress.
Chunchun answered smoothly, even when she mixed up the order, remembering everything perfectly. Tiantian stumbled a bit but got all of them right in the end.
True to her word, Yi Rongkun took out a piece of candy she had been saving, broke it into two, and handed it to them. "This is your reward for studying hard and learning all the words I taught you."
"Thank you, Little Aunt!"
As the siblings were about to pop the candy into their mouths, Chunchun noticed their aunt had none. She stopped and asked, "Little Aunt, why aren't you eating yours?"
"I don't want any. You two eat it," Yi Rongkun said, swallowing her own saliva. "Hurry up, before it melts."
The truth was, this candy had been given to her by her mother that morning, and she had been saving it for a special moment. She hadn't expected to give it away as a prize before she even had a chance to enjoy it herself.
"Little Aunt, you take a bite first." Seeing that their aunt really wanted some, Yishichun resisted the urge to eat the candy and held his piece out toward her.
"No." Yi Rongkun felt too embarrassed to take back what she had already given away. She purposely turned her head, pretending to look away so she wouldn't be tempted.
"Little Aunt, please eat it." Seeing this, Yishitian also realized their aunt had nothing, and she hurried to push her piece toward her. "You eat this one, and my brother and I will share the other one."
"I told you I don't want it! Why are you so annoying, always—"
Before Yi Rongkun could finish her insincere protest, Yishichun popped the half-piece of candy directly into her mouth, silencing her completely.
