The woman wore a blue robe, her black hair cascading down her waist. An ornate hairpin adorned her head, and her beauty was so extraordinary it could bring down empires; her skin was as pure as snow and delicate as silk, inviting the touch of a breeze. Her eyes, strikingly, were a mesmerizing pale green. Yet that was only secondary; the most remarkable thing about this princess was her aura. Simply standing there, she seemed as imposing as a mountain, making it hard for anyone nearby to breathe.

Platinum.

The princess glanced at Gu Lang, then fixed her gaze on Yu Qiuchi. “It’s rare to find a golden zombie. In this apocalypse, the odds of zombies mutating are much lower than humans—yet you managed to tame one.” Yu Qiuchi stepped back half a pace, instinctively suppressed by her platinum rank. Gu Lang frowned, remaining silent. A startled cry rang out from behind.

“Damn! The Millennium Princess is truly platinum!” Liu Wenhao had just climbed up the mountain and witnessed the scene. He drew in a sharp breath, his legs trembling uncontrollably. Su Xing’er’s pupils quivered, her legs weak as well.

“We’re doomed! Gu Lang’s as good as dead—this is a platinum zombie! She built an entire snow mountain by herself, how can we possibly compete?” The princess turned her head again, her gaze settling on Gu Lang.

“You seem to be the strongest. To kill so many silver enemies in such a short time and reach the summit is impressive. But you’ve offended me, so you must die all the same.”

The princess slowly raised her slender jade finger, pointing at Gu Lang from a distance, as if to strike him.

“This idiot! Why did he have to provoke a platinum powerhouse? Why did I follow him up here?” Liu Wenhao had already closed his eyes; once Gu Lang died, his turn would surely come.

Su Xing’er, meanwhile, began to retreat, desperate to escape.

But suddenly, Gu Lang spoke up, neither too soon nor too late. “Beautiful lady! How about the two of us have a meal together, maybe some tea?”

A buzzing filled Liu Wenhao’s mind—he was utterly stunned, dumbfounded.

Was he dreaming?

He was actually inviting a platinum zombie—no less than the Millennium Princess—for tea! Even in dreams, this was absurd.

Now, surely, he would die even more horribly!

Su Xing’er’s thoughts exploded in her mind. Was he trying to get them all killed? Flirting with the Millennium Zombie Princess—he must truly wish to live in infamy before dying!

Everyone was shocked—except the princess, who stood there blankly. The coldness in her eyes slowly melted, replaced by kindness.

“Cough, cough… Very well, I haven’t dined with anyone in a very long time.”

“What? She agreed? Damn! All this time, the Millennium Princess was still untouched? She was so easily won over!” Liu Wenhao felt his entire worldview collapse. If only he’d known it was this easy, he would have tried chatting her up himself!

“But... aren’t you a zombie? Aren’t you platinum?” Su Xing’er collapsed to the ground, her breath coming fast.

Only Gu Lang let out a long sigh of relief. “It worked. That damned system didn’t sabotage me this time!”

In his mind, the system’s voice echoed slowly: “Congratulations, Host. After traversing countless mountains and rivers, you have finally approached a platinum expert, the Millennium Zombie Princess. Please proceed with the next stage of the strategy!”

“Task reward: 50 free attribute points!”

“Congratulations, Host. A new mission has been triggered: Please win over Luo Xue. Travel with Luo Xue for two months. Upon completion, her favorability will reach maximum, provided she does not leave your side during this period.”

“Task reward: Advanced platinum item.”

“My name is Luo Xue. And you?” Luo Xue stepped closer to Gu Lang, carrying an indescribable fragrance.

“Gu Lang! Before we have tea, may I ask you a question?” Gu Lang sized her up. He had to admit, Luo Xue’s ancient attire could not hide her striking figure, and her face was as beautiful as a celestial maiden. But, perhaps due to her rank, Gu Lang couldn’t access her details.

“Go ahead,” he said.

Luo Xue, seemingly influenced by the system, showed considerable favor toward Gu Lang. “What rank are you? Can you defeat a platinum? There is a platinum at the base of the mountain plotting against us right now.”

Gu Lang pointed toward the direction of Li Changhe at the foot of the mountain.

Luo Xue frowned, letting out a cold snort. “A thousand years ago, I turned into a zombie, though the apocalypse hadn’t yet broken out. I was buried in the earth, but already at the peak of gold rank. Now, I’ve crossed the threshold and am at the early platinum stage. I built this snow mountain to select powerful chosen ones, then kill them to gain experience, nothing more.”

“That so-called platinum isn’t even true platinum—just a silver peak who’s taken half a step forward. Killing him is like crushing an ant.”

Luo Xue made no attempt to conceal anything. In this world, the higher the rank, the greater the power. The gap between ranks grows ever wider as one advances. Though the difference appears to be half a step, in truth it is worlds apart.

“In that case, it’s settled.”

Gu Lang chuckled, a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes.

“The damned system wants me to stay with Luo Xue for two months. The task seems simple, but Luo Xue merely has a slight favor toward me. I can’t command her, nor bind her to follow me. The only way is…”

He thought to himself, then raised his hand and launched an ice spike.

The ice spike pierced straight through Liu Wenhao’s forehead. His head exploded on the spot; he died instantly.

Luo Xue watched in silence, making no move to stop it. To her, humans were no more than ants.

Only Gu Lang was special.

Su Xing’er, who had been stunned moments before, realized the princess now seemed to be allied with Gu Lang—and Gu Lang had just killed Liu Wenhao. She drew in a sharp breath, hurriedly begging for mercy.

“Master Gu Lang, please don’t kill me! I won’t try to harm you again! It was all Li Changhe’s idea!”

“If I didn’t cooperate, I wouldn’t get medicine, couldn’t maintain my rank, and might even turn into a zombie!”

Gu Lang was about to strike her down, but paused at her words.

“What? You mean the SPC medicine?”

“Yes! In our Dragon Nation’s core, there is an SPC headquarters. Inside are not only platinum, but even diamond-ranked experts! Their medicine lets people advance regardless of attribute points, though it must be taken continuously!”

Su Xing’er hurried to explain.

“SPC? What is that?” Luo Xue frowned, sensing the organization was powerful.

“A bunch of greedy bandits—they burn, kill, and pillage everywhere, even capturing zombies. The platinum outside is here for you!”

Gu Lang laughed, following up smoothly.

Su Xing’er was momentarily stunned. Wasn’t Li Changhe’s true target supposed to be you?

“Is that so? Hmph, that person must die!” Luo Xue’s expression darkened, her gaze turning icy. “Damn it, he’s already inside, and has slaughtered over a hundred guards!”

Luo Xue’s fury made her body radiate chilling air; even Gu Lang, standing close, found his body coated in a layer of frost.

“Come! Let’s kill him together!”

Luo Xue charged down the mountain, leading the way.
