At Starlight Bar, the glaring lights and heavy metal music reverberated amid the youthful throng of men and women swaying to the rhythm.
“Drink up, I’ve got plenty of money. Come on, drink with me.”
Shen Man, reeking of alcohol, boldly grabbed stacks of cash from the table and tossed them into the faces of the lecherous men nearby.
Picking up money without hesitation was only foolish not to do, and the men greedily gathered the bills, their eyes fixed on the growing pile on the table.
“Miss, did something upset you? If you want... I can take you home,” a voice called out from within the crowd.
A handsome man in a casual white shirt and black dress pants, flanked by two bodyguards, strode forward.
“Who are you? Get lost, I don’t need your help, you pathetic sycophant!” Shen Man swung her slender arms and shoved the man sitting beside her.
But he merely smiled knowingly, casting a warning glance at the greedy youths nearby.
“What’s the matter? Like watching, huh? Want me to gouge your eyes out? She’s mine—get lost!”
Clearly, this man held a high status here; his glare alone sent the nearby young men, mostly students, slinking away.
“Beautiful, you’re wasted like this; drinking more won’t do you any good. Since you don’t want to go home, how about this—the bar is mine. Let me take you upstairs, it’s... better there.”
With that, the man supported Shen Man, his hand gently resting on her soft waist.
Just a single touch told him that this woman was no cheap plaything he was used to.
One of the bodyguards smirked and pulled a small pink package from his pocket.
“What’s that for?” the man glared.
“Master, it’s better to take some precautions. Tiger said you can have fun, but don’t come back with some unknown kid.”
“Damn it, I hate that feeling. Get lost.”
The bodyguard reluctantly stepped aside.
Just as the man was leading Shen Man upstairs, she suddenly noticed a man sitting across who looked out of place.
“Hey, Yan Fengjia, is that you? You’re here!” Shen Man broke free from the man’s grasp and stumbled over to sit beside Yan Fengjia.
Yan Fengjia frowned sharply. Tall and imposing, his sharp brows and piercing eyes exuded the powerful aura of a superior.
“Money isn’t spent like this. And you’re drinking so much—aren’t you worried about getting taken advantage of?”
“Who the hell are you, dude?” the man tugged his collar and stepped forward, face cold.
This was his turf, and someone was trying to snatch his prize?
Yan Fengjia ignored him, glancing sideways at Shen Man. “Enough trouble. If you’re done, go. I’m in a hurry.”
“Stop, who the hell said you could leave?” The man was stunned that this guy dared to ignore him and stepped to block his path.
“Without my order, try taking my prize.”
Shen Man gave a coquettish smile, burped drunkenly, and slurred, “He just tried to grope me. Yan Fengjia, teach him a lesson.”
Yan Fengjia frowned. “I didn’t come here to play childish games with you.”
“Wait, did you even hear me? Don’t you know how to show respect...”
The man, ignored again, burst into angry laughter.
I’m just here to watch you two show off your lovey-dovey act?

Before he could finish, suddenly a sharp finger jabbed forcefully into his mouth, dragging him down to the floor.
“Bang!”
The floor shook violently as the man’s teeth shattered, blood spurting from his mouth.
“Ah! My teeth! My teeth! Kill him!” he howled in agony, nearly passing out.
The two bodyguards roared and charged forward.
Yan Fengjia frowned and stepped in front of Shen Man protectively, delivering a powerful kick.
“Bang!”
A burly bodyguard over six feet tall and nearly two hundred pounds was sent flying with a grunt, the loud crash drawing everyone’s attention.
“You’re asking for death!” The remaining bodyguard grabbed a swan-necked wine bottle from the table and hurled it.
Yan Fengjia’s expression grew impatient.
Women were trouble—especially beautiful ones.
“Get lost.” With a wave of his hand, as if swatting a mosquito, the bodyguard spun around and crashed into the bar counter.
Glass shattered and bottles tumbled, burying him under a cascade of broken glassware.
“Well done! See that? This is my boyfriend. Cool, huh?” Shen Man staggered, clapping and showing off to everyone.
“Do you know who I am? You dare disrupt my business on my turf?” The man clutched his bloodied mouth, too pained to stand.
Yan Fengjia lit a cigarette and walked over.
“What... what are you going to do?”
With one hand in his pocket, he flicked the cigarette ash onto the man’s head.
“It doesn’t matter who you are. What matters is you wasted my precious time. This time, I just broke your teeth. Next time, if I see you acting so arrogantly again,” a cold smile appeared at the corner of Yan Fengjia’s mouth, “I’ll ruin you down there.”
With that, Yan Fengjia turned and hoisted Shen Man over his shoulder, walking away.
The crowd of men and women around murmured in awe.
“Who’s this guy? So arrogant! He even dares mess with the Zhao family’s son?”
“He’s doomed. Last time, some arrogant guy like that got thrown into the river the next day.”
“Zhao Hu only has one younger brother. Who dares provoke him?”
“Is that... Yan Fengjia?”
At that moment, Gu Qinghan, who had been entertaining guests upstairs, came downstairs with her secretary.
She caught sight of the scene just in time.
“No way. Yan Fengjia wouldn’t come here with a stranger,” Gu Qinghan’s heart twisted. She ignored everything else and hurried after them.
Outside, Yan Fengjia shoved Shen Man into the back seat and drove off immediately.
“Yan Fengjia, you... you already like another woman? I don’t believe it!” Gu Qinghan’s tears welled up as she quickly got into her car and gave chase.
...
“Is this the place?”

A somewhat desolate villa stood shrouded in darkness.
Yan Fengjia dropped Shen Man by the door, letting her lean against the wall.
“Since we’re here, you go in yourself. I’m leaving.”
“Wait,” Shen Man sobered slightly, her eyes glassy. “At least see me inside. My legs are weak.”
“Also, I’m a woman. Can you be a gentleman and consider my feelings?”
Yan Fengjia frowned, his face full of impatience.
“You’re such a nuisance, do you know that?”
The Junlin Group was about to release two billion yuan in funding, but Yan Fengjia couldn’t let his father know.
Junlin Group wielded immense influence in China, a commercial empire.
His identity was connected to the heavenly Jiang family; he couldn’t afford to worry them.
His plan was to use Shen Man’s identity to legitimize cooperation with the Yan family and secure that two billion in cash.
But judging from the current situation, it seemed more trouble than help.
He should have stuck with Wan Sanqian.
Though he already had a poor impression of her, she was easier to handle.
“I’ll just see you inside and then leave immediately. You can call someone to watch over you,” Yan Fengjia said, opening the door to help Shen Man in.
“Yan Fengjia,” just then, Gu Qinghan arrived in her car, having caught up.
Seeing this, Gu Qinghan’s heart sank completely.
“Qinghan?” Yan Fengjia blinked in surprise.
“What are you doing here?”
Gu Qinghan stepped out in high heels and hurried over. “You wouldn’t have sold yourself to pay debts, would you?”
Yan Fengjia was stunned. “You’ve misunderstood.”
“Misunderstood?” Gu Qinghan pointed at Shen Man with tears in her eyes. “Is this a misunderstanding? Look at her—she’s practically growing roots on you.”
Whether intentionally or not, Shen Man’s mischievous little hand roamed over Yan Fengjia’s firm abs, her eyes full of flaunting pride.
“If you need money, just tell me. I’m trying to find a way to help you. Don’t humiliate yourself like this, okay?”
Gu Zangfeng already knew it was Yan Fengjia’s life-restoring pill that saved him, though it didn’t erase his resentment.
Still, he couldn’t stand to see the Yan family fall apart.
So he was gathering funds to help the Yan family repay some debts.
“I told you, you’re mistaken. She and I are cooperating professionally.”
“Do you take me for a child? You’d rather be with her? You didn’t even touch me at the hotel yesterday?”
Gu Qinghan grabbed Yan Fengjia, her voice choked with tears. “Come with me. I’ll give myself to you right away. I’ll help pay off your debts. Once it’s done, even my dad will have to agree.”
Yan Fengjia laughed bitterly. “Wait, have I really become a kept man?”
