At the airport, an elderly man in his sixties grasped a dragon-shaped staff, flanked by two suited bodyguards carrying black briefcases. Yet, after hanging up the phone, his hand trembled uncontrollably. The reason was clear: he was about to meet the newest heir of the Junlin Group. Even a powerful figure like him in the demon city dared not offend this heir in the slightest.

Suddenly, a convoy of luxury cars snaked through the airport, causing a stir. From the lead vehicle stepped a middle-aged man, exuding an unspoken authority—Shen Chengwen, the head of the Shen family, there to welcome the elderly gentleman.

“Teacher, I didn’t expect you to come to Qinghai City. Why didn’t you give me a heads-up?” Shen Chengwen asked respectfully.

The elderly man was Shen’s lifelong mentor. Much of the Shen family’s overseas success and wealth could be attributed to this venerable figure.

“Chengwen, did you know there’s a great power rising in Qinghai City?” the old man said with concern.

Shen looked puzzled. His teacher, so advanced in years, had personally come to Qinghai City because a formidable force was dormant on his turf? Who could it be?

Shen forced a smile. “Teacher, who is it? I haven’t heard a thing.”

“That’s someone you can’t approach. Not even I have the privilege. Although I’m fortunate to see the true face of this great power, it’s...” the old man explained inside the car.

It turned out that Li Tianchen had offended this person, who, through Junlin Group, had directly issued orders for a thorough investigation—tracking individuals from youth to old age. Naturally, the burden eventually fell on the old man himself.

Before this, he hadn’t even known Li Tianchen was such a significant figure. But after Junlin Group’s sweeping actions over a few days, many high-profile people were implicated. This was why Li Tianchen’s death was so quiet—no one pursued the matter further.

“That person is the heir to Junlin Group!” Shen Chengwen gasped, relieved it wasn’t himself who’d provoked this figure.

“Teacher, I once thought you were the financial backer behind Li Tianchen,” Shen joked.

The old man sneered coldly. “His backer is probably rotting underground by now. The world is small, and in the end, I got framed.”

“Enough. Tell the driver to speed up. If we’re late, neither of us can bear the consequences.”

...

In the Hengyuan Group office, Yan Fengjia frowned as he read messages on his phone. He was in a family group chat called “Loving Family.”

Suddenly, a charming woman’s avatar flashed—it was his Seventh Master.

Seventh Master: “Xiao Fengjia, I heard you’ve inherited the Junlin Group I gave you?”

Yan Fengjia replied, “I didn’t want to, but some complications have arisen. I might have to call on your connections.”

Seventh Master: “What do you mean ‘yours’ or ‘mine’? Seventh Master’s people are yours now, so everything I have belongs to you.”

The chat exploded. The Sixth Master, a renowned medical expert, sent an angry yet adorable emoji.

“Yan Fengjia, the Sixth Master’s Herbal Hall is world-famous. Many pay fortunes for a single pill. Why don’t you go report there first? They’re all waiting for you.”

His phone buzzed nonstop as several other beautiful, top-tier masters from various fields chimed in. Frightened, Yan Fengjia quickly replied and closed the phone.

At that moment, Yan Qiluo, dressed in a crisp white tailored suit, knocked on the office door.

“Master, he’s here,” she said.

Yan Fengjia’s face darkened. “Tell him to come in.”

Only the elderly man stood at the door. Hearing that, he trembled and entered shakily, kneeling without daring to raise his head.

“Mr. Yan... I, Zhao Kangnian, pay my respects,” the old man said, trembling.

Zhao Kangnian was a respected figure in the demon city, but now he was quaking with fear.

“Zhao Kangnian?” Yan Fengjia’s lips curled in a faint smile. “You Zhao family folks are arrogant. Your men have reached into my Yan family’s territory. What do you have to say for yourself?”

The old man nearly fainted. “Mr. Yan, I’m old and can’t keep track of everything. Besides, the master behind Li Tianchen and my Zhao family only had ordinary business dealings. I barely spoke with him.”

Yan Fengjia was stunned.

“Yan Qiluo, I told you to find the backer protecting Li Tianchen. If this old man only has a faint connection, why bring him here?”

Yan Qiluo’s expression was emotionless, mechanical.

“Master, that person has been killed.”

“Who?” Yan Fengjia halted, tapping the desk with his finger.

Yan Qiluo blurted out, “The second-in-command of Junlin Group—your Seventh Senior Sister.”

“Once she learned you revealed your identity, she immediately ordered top officials to investigate. Everyone connected to Li Tianchen... nearly all of them are dead.”

“As for him, he’s the only survivor so far because he’s far from the capital.”

The old man nearly wet himself with fear.

He wasn’t alive because he was uninvolved—he just hadn’t been targeted yet.

He kowtowed desperately. “Mr. Yan, I’m truly innocent. I didn’t know anything. Please speak on my behalf and save me.”

Yan Fengjia rubbed his chin, troubled.

His seven masters each had their own disciples. Now, seven senior sisters managed his forces, waiting for his return. Compared to the seven beautiful masters, his senior sisters were even more ruthless and skilled.

“This is troublesome,” Yan Fengjia regretted. “If my seven senior sisters learn I’m in Qinghai City and come down here, this place will be turned upside down.”

While Yan Fengjia pondered how to deal with the arrival of these formidable and beautiful sisters, he noticed the old man had fainted.

“Is my Seventh Senior Sister really that terrifying?” Yan Fengjia smiled bitterly. The old man had lost his soul from fear.

Yan Qiluo said plainly, “Your Seventh Senior Sister is the highest shareholder and authority in Junlin Group after you.”

“In the entire capital city, no—perhaps all of China—no one rivals her wealth.”

“A significant portion of the military budget comes from Junlin Group.”

“Her privileges and connections are beyond imagination.”

“Enough, enough,” Yan Fengjia said, feeling increasingly uneasy.

If the Seventh Senior Sister was so formidable, what about the other six?

He just wanted a peaceful few days to care for his aging father.

“What should we do with the old man?” Yan Qiluo sensed something was off; the old man seemed near death.

Yan Fengjia stepped forward and administered a few needles. Zhao Kangnian took a deep breath and revived but nearly fainted again upon seeing Yan Fengjia.

“Don’t faint. Don’t worry; I won’t wrongly accuse anyone. You’re not involved. I promise you’ll be safe.”

Hearing this, Zhao Kangnian kowtowed gratefully. “Thank you, Mr. Yan. If you ever need me, please say the word.”

“Even if I must rally my entire clan, I’ll ensure you’re satisfied.”

“Fine, I’ll see how you perform,” Yan Fengjia said casually, sending the old man from hell back to heaven.

If he could connect with the Junlin Group heir, the Zhao family might soar.

Soon, Zhao Kangnian shakily descended the stairs. Shen Chengwen, waiting in the hall, hurried to support him. “Teacher, are you alright? Did the great power give you trouble?”

Zhao’s hands and feet were cold, but his face shone with the thrill of survival.

“Don’t worry, no harm done. That person is kind-hearted and just. He neither blames me nor holds grudges. I won’t leave anytime soon.”

“As long as I stay connected, the Zhao family will surely rise further.”

Shen Chengwen smiled broadly. This was excellent news. When one person succeeds, everyone around them benefits.

“Teacher, I think since the Junlin Group leader is here in Qinghai City, I dare to invite him to a meal. What do you think?”

Zhao Kangnian quickly covered Shen’s mouth, stern. “That kind of person demands the very best. Even Junlin Group’s top brass scramble to get him dragon meat.”

“Would he deign to eat your scraps?”

“Just don’t do anything unnecessary to avoid offending him, understand?”

Shen Chengwen nodded reluctantly. “Everything will be as you say.”

At that moment, Shen’s phone rang.

“Husband, help! Come to the hospital quickly! Your son’s finger was ruined by that beast!”

“What?” Shen’s smile froze instantly.
