In the afternoon, Yan Fengjia received a call from Zhao Kangnian.

“Mr. Yan, the information you want isn’t something we can discuss in detail over the phone. My granddaughter holds a position in the military in northern China and should arrive sometime tonight. She would like to speak with you in person. Would you be available to meet?”

“Oh?” Yan Fengjia frowned.

The Zhao family’s granddaughter was actually in the military?

“Fine. Have them go to the Yan Group headquarters. Just make sure to notify me in advance.”

“Zhao Kangnian?” Shen Man sat on Yan Fengjia’s lap in a short, alluring skirt, her eyes filled with temptation.

Yan Fengjia glanced at her. The woman truly was an exceptional beauty.

She had never concealed her true thoughts or bothered with coy games.

She wanted to become Yan Fengjia’s woman and rely on him to obtain everything she desired.

She did not even mind being merely his mistress.

“You’re being awfully bold. Aren’t you afraid one of your subordinates might see?” Yan Fengjia made no attempt to avoid her either. One hand settled on Shen Man’s thigh.

It was soft, yet possessed a pleasing strength and firmness.

Clearly, Shen Man was not only extremely demanding of herself at work; she was almost obsessive about maintaining her figure as well.

“What is there to fear? If you want me, I can give myself to you right now.” Shen Man blew softly beside Yan Fengjia’s ear, her slender, pale hand repeatedly tugging at the buttons on his shirt.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not interested.” Yan Fengjia brought his palm down hard on her rounded backside.

Shen Man winced in pain and let out a delicate moan before sliding down onto the floor, her seductive eyes glimmering as she tried every possible way to please him.

A man like this—she would not even mind becoming his lover for a single night.

In Shen Man’s view, if she was destined to marry a man from a scholarly family whose abilities matched her own, why not serve a man powerful enough to dominate her instead?

There were plenty of capable women around a man like him. All she wanted was for Yan Fengjia to remember her virtues whenever he was with another woman.

“It’s fine if you’re not interested. You can just sit back and enjoy yourself while I show you the special skill I’ve practiced especially for you.”

Smiling, Shen Man reached for Yan Fengjia’s belt.

But just then, Qin Wanqiu’s phone rang, interrupting Shen Man’s performance.

“Sister Wanqiu, what happened?”

Qin Wanqiu’s voice came through the phone, strained as she tried to hold back her panic.

“Fengjia, something happened to my younger brother. What are we going to do?”

Yan Fengjia froze. “What happened? Don’t panic. Tell me slowly.”

“That bastard took the ten million you gave him and went gambling at an underground casino. Not only did he lose every last penny, but the casino owner has him now.”

“Just now, the owner sent one of my brother’s fingers to my office. He said that if I didn’t bring money to ransom him, he would cut off his hands and feet.”

Yan Fengjia’s brows drew together. “The underground casino—whose territory is it?”

“I don’t know.” Qin Wanqiu felt more exhausted than ever before.

Why had she been born into such a family?

“All right. Wait for me. Don’t panic.”

She truly did not want to trouble the Yan family again.

Shen Man obediently remained silent nearby. Only after Yan Fengjia hung up did she say, “If I’m not mistaken, it should belong to the Long family of Qinghai City.”

“The Long family?” Yan Fengjia had never heard of them.

“Yes. The Long family has always been involved in underground dealings, and their underground casino is especially large.”

“Furthermore, I’ve heard that the head of the Long family has an extremely extensive network of connections. He is a powerful figure who came from the capital. Back then, even Li Tianchen personally attended the casino’s opening ceremony.”

Yan Fengjia frowned and rose to his feet.

“You’re leaving just like that? Don’t you need my help?” Shen Man asked with a smile.

“Send a car.”

“All right. I’ll call security.”

Watching Yan Fengjia disappear into the distance, Shen Man was deeply disappointed.

She looked at the small pink packet clenched tightly in her palm and sighed. “What a pity. I even deliberately made a hole in it. All that effort wasted.”

“I refuse to believe you can escape me next time. I’ll have you sooner or later, and I’ll make sure you never forget me.” Shen Man licked her alluring red lips.

…

“Sister Wanqiu, it’s all right. Don’t worry.”

Yan Fengjia drove a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, taking Qin Wanqiu with him to the underground casino.

As soon as they got out of the car, they saw the entire entrance crowded with people.

Li Huijun spotted her daughter and ran toward her in tears.

“Young Master Yan, you have to save my son! He’s the only male heir in the Qin family.”

“If anything happens to him, how am I supposed to answer to his father?”

“Mom, that ten million was meant to help him get married. How could you give him a bank card without a password?”

Qin Haoran had developed a gambling habit while he was in college.

Li Huijun regretted it deeply. “He said he wanted to buy some clothes and bags for his girlfriend. I didn’t think much of it, so I gave him the card.”

“But who could have imagined this would happen? Oh, what are we going to do?”

“I’m seriously going to be driven to death by you! You keep indulging him, and sooner or later you’ll ruin him with your own hands!” Qin Wanqiu trembled with anger.

“All right. Come inside with me and let’s see what’s going on.” Yan Fengjia walked forward calmly.

“You’re Qin Haoran’s family?” A heavily built man with a face full of coarse flesh stood at the entrance, wearing an expression of amusement.

Yan Fengjia said indifferently, “Take me to him.”

“Sure. This way.”

The burly man exchanged a glance with several underlings beside him, then led the three of them inside.

The underground casino was filled with swirling smoke.

They soon saw Qin Haoran kneeling on the floor, his face swollen and bruised, terror written across his features.

“Mom! Sis! Save me!” Qin Haoran cried as though he had seized a lifeline.

But the moment he tried to stand, the burly man pressed him back down with one broad hand.

“What exactly are you trying to do? I’m warning you, don’t act recklessly. This is Young Master Yan of the Yan family.”

“He has money! Don’t hurt my son!” When Li Huijun saw that her son’s right index finger was missing, she was nearly overcome with grief.

“We know. The Yan family’s famous ex-convict, right? I’ve heard quite a lot about you.”

The burly man puffed on a cigar, wearing a mocking smile. “Boy, I heard you joined forces with the Shen family and brought down Li Tianchen. Not bad. Are you a martial artist?”

Yan Fengjia replied calmly, “How much does he owe?”

“Not much. Not much at all.” The burly man held up one finger.

“One million?” Qin Wanqiu’s lovely face changed dramatically.

The burly man burst into laughter. “If it were only one million, I might let him go for the sake of the Yan family.”

“But he owes one hundred million.”

“What!” Qin Wanqiu nearly fainted from fright.

Beside her, Li Huijun dropped to her knees with a thud and grabbed Yan Fengjia’s trouser leg.

“Young Master Yan, your family is so wealthy. One hundred million isn’t much to you.”

“Please, save my son! He’s the only male heir in the Qin family!”

Yan Fengjia frowned. “One hundred million? You really dared to lend that much to him without worrying that he couldn’t repay it?”

“Don’t blame me. The boy was incredibly arrogant. He said his sister was the president of the Yan Group, earned tens of millions a year, and was also your family’s daughter-in-law.”

“I figured one hundred million wouldn’t be much.”

Yan Fengjia let out a cold laugh. “One hundred million indeed isn’t much—but it depends on what it’s being used for.”

The burly man’s expression darkened. “What are you trying to say?”

“You clearly intend to provoke my Yan family. You won’t get a single penny of that hundred million.”

“And furthermore…” Yan Fengjia pulled over a chair and sat down, his deep eyes gleaming with icy menace.

“I’m taking the man with me. You cut off one of his fingers, so I want one of your arms as compensation. What do you think?”

The moment he finished speaking, killing intent filled the entire underground casino. The smile on the burly man’s face became increasingly cold and terrifying.

“Boy, I know you have some ability. Otherwise, that old fool Li Tianchen wouldn’t have lost to you. But I’m not him.”

“Is that so?”

Yan Fengjia slowly raised his eyes. Then, in the very next instant, his entire body vanished with a thunderous burst. In a single step, he appeared before the burly man.

Without the slightest hesitation, he kicked him flying.

The heavy man’s obese body slammed into the wall, causing cracks to spread across it.

“Ugh!”

The burly man spat out a mouthful of blood. Before he could catch his breath, Yan Fengjia closed in and slapped him across the face.

Several teeth flew through the air.

“You wanted to intimidate my Yan family. Did you really think we were easy prey?”

“You… you…”

Yan Fengjia smiled. “Call whoever is in charge here.”

“I’m in charge here.”

“You’re not.” Yan Fengjia smiled faintly.

Just then, applause came from upstairs.

A stunning woman appeared in the observation room. She wore a seductive qipao, her black hair swept into an elegant knot that revealed her snow-white neck.

Her full crimson lips curved into a look of appreciation.

“I’ve heard that the Yan family’s fourth young master possesses remarkable skill and defeated Li Tianchen, that martial brute. Seeing you today, I can confirm the rumors. Your abilities are truly extraordinary, and your presence is overwhelming.”

“I am the person in charge of this underground casino. You may call me Long Yiran.”

“Boss Long,” the burly man mumbled through his swollen mouth, covering it with one hand. “That boy caught me off guard. It doesn’t count.”

“Enough. Someone at your level, a mere external-strength martial artist, is no match for him. Stop embarrassing me.”

“Mr. Yan, would you care to come upstairs so we can discuss this in detail?”

“Certainly.”

Yan Fengjia gave Qin Wanqiu a reassuring look, then casually headed upstairs.
