Chapter 109: Tianxin District, Let the Battle Begin!
“What exactly did my sworn father do to make these people betray the organization? Have they completely lost their minds?” Lying on the bed, Ye Aotian gritted his teeth in pain.
His cultivation method was usually so refined that it was nearly impossible to find a flaw. Yet, inexplicably, these few had managed to pinpoint his weak spots with precision and launched relentless attacks. No matter how strong Ye Aotian was, he simply could not withstand such assaults; the outcome was inevitable.
Still, Ye Aotian was filled with disbelief. What could have possibly happened to drive these men to treat him this way?
“Young master, I believe there must be other reasons behind this. We shouldn’t dwell too much on it,” Chen Along said, frowning as he looked at Ye Aotian’s battered body.
No one expected that halfway through their journey, they would be ambushed—and even more shockingly, the ambushers turned out to be the very people who were supposed to accompany Ye Aotian.
Now, Ye Aotian was burning with fury, nowhere to vent his anger.
“Chen Along, immediately recall those men.”
“I had hoped that once we reached Jiang City, everything would be resolved smoothly. But now, with someone like Lin Li involved, it seems my plans are bound to fail.”
By this point, Ye Aotian’s expression had darkened considerably.
“Lin Li thinks he can completely crush me with these tactics? Fine, then let me see what other tricks he has up his sleeve.”
…
Injured, Ye Aotian was no longer able to operate freely in Jiang City for the time being.
Meanwhile, Lin Li seized the opportunity to push forward with the Tianxin District project.
Everything was progressing smoothly.
Many had doubted the Qin family’s strength, but as time passed, they began to reveal their unique qualities. Under Lin Li’s control, the Qin family advanced at an astonishing pace in every aspect, quickly becoming a focal point of attention.
When news spread that Lin Li intended to continue developing the Tianxin District project, many were astonished. Even Su Lan was surprised upon learning of Lin Li’s decision, fully aware of the project’s significance.
Nevertheless, Su Lan was relatively supportive of Lin Li.
“Although I support any decision you make, we have to face reality under the current circumstances,” she said.
“Even if we gather all the Qin family’s resources, developing the Tianxin District project remains far too risky.”
Su Lan looked at Lin Li knowingly. She was aware that he still had many cards unplayed but felt some things needed to be addressed upfront.
“Have you done the calculations, Lan Jie?” Lin Li asked with a smile, stepping beside Su Lan.
She nodded.
“As soon as I realized you were interested in this project, I immediately researched it thoroughly, despite previous groundwork laid by others.”
“I estimate that securing the entire Tianxin District project would require funding on the scale of hundreds of billions.”
To succeed, the Qin family would have to liquidate all their assets and invest every last penny into the Tianxin District project.
What did that mean?
If they did so, the Qin family’s presence in Jiang City would be little more than a hollow name.
“I know it’s difficult, which is why we must be even more meticulous with this matter.”
Lin Li was well aware of his precarious situation. If the Tianxin District project were easy, it would not have remained untouched for so long.
Ultimately, the immense resource consumption and risk deterred anyone from taking it on.
Lin Li knew what was coming and thus acted with such decisiveness throughout this series of events.
“Even if we have to sell everything, we must secure the Tianxin District project.”
“And the sooner, the better.”
Su Lan widened her eyes, staring at Lin Li as if he were mad.
“First of all, participating in the Tianxin District project is already extremely risky, yet you want to accelerate it now?”
“You know that haste makes waste. If we want to speed up the project, the funding required will increase exponentially.”
Lin Li pondered for a moment.
Currently, he could muster over ten billion from selling shares of Sanhe Group combined with the Qin family’s assets.
But how much more sponsorship they could garner afterward depended on their capabilities.
At present, the difficulty was immense.
“I’ve said it before—no matter the hardships, we must secure this project. If the Qin family wants to turn the tide, this is our only chance.”
“We’ve struggled against the Four Great Families for so many years without gaining the upper hand, but if we succeed this time, those families will be nothing but juniors before us.”
Lin Li had already planned his fallback. Whether he succeeded or failed, he had to hold on to the very end.
Su Lan indeed felt this was somewhat reckless. With her experience, if they were to take on the Tianxin District project, it should be a gradual process. Lin Li’s eagerness seemed too rash.
Yet, since Lin Li had made his stance clear, she could only fully support him.
“I don’t know why you made this decision, but I trust you have your reasons.”
“If you need any help, just say so. I will do my best to stabilize everyone on the company’s side.”
One could not deny that Su Lan was exceptionally kind to Lin Li.
Of course, this was also because Lin Li’s previous decisions had been wise enough to convince her he was no fool.
Though the Tianxin District project seemed like a reckless gamble now, Su Lan believed that as long as Lin Li was serious, there would be other opportunities ahead.
Seeing Su Lan’s earnestness, Lin Li finally allowed himself a smile.
Next, he had to persuade the other Qin family members.
They still held some shares in the Qin Corporation. Lin Li’s task was to make them hand over those shares quietly—or step down from key positions.
Only by gaining complete control could Lin Li ensure no obstacles would arise in his future plans.
“Those freeloaders have indeed overstayed their welcome. It’s time to deal with them; otherwise, who knows what trouble they might cause us later on.”
Su Lan had no objections to Lin Li’s words.
Their presence was certainly not beneficial to the Qin family.
If they could be removed, given the Qin family’s current situation, they might yet grow stronger.
