Chapter Seventy-Four: Confronting the Lightsaber

In the real world, it was now past three in the morning. Players in the Dungeon were scattered, with only a few remaining. All the raids that needed to be done were finished, and at this hour, there weren’t any new parties forming. The remaining players could only stand in the streets, chatting and boasting with familiar faces. Hardly anyone came to the deck at this hour to admire the scenery.
Yet, accidents can happen unexpectedly.
A player with the ID "Soaked Without a Girlfriend" strode onto the deck. He had planned to log off, but suddenly remembered he’d gotten a bean from today’s raid—just enough to open an Anton capsule if he collected four. He’d even drawn a +10 enhancement coupon from a box today; with luck running so well, perhaps this was the time for a perfect upgrade!
With these thoughts, Mr. Soaked Without a Girlfriend switched channels as usual and walked to the familiar deck.
And then... and then...
He knelt.
Oh, mother!
What the heck!
What did I just see?!
In front of the computer, a handsome young man rubbed his sleep-reddened eyes hard, mouth agape, staring at the floating Ultraman on the screen.
Ultraman? No... Did I enter the wrong set? I'm playing Dungeon, not some Ultraman fighting mini-game! Dungeon—the game for three hundred thousand gentlemen in suits and ties! How could Ultraman appear?!
On the screen, a distant luminous figure floated before the continent-like Anton, the giant turtle. With its distinctive appearance, anyone with childhood memories could instantly recognize it as Ultraman!
Could there be a crossover between Dungeon and Ultraman? Some new Easter egg?
Forgetting all his loneliness about lacking a girlfriend, Soaked Without a Girlfriend opened his computer’s recording function and began shouting across gaming groups and messaging apps.
From there, the event began to cause a sensation throughout the gaming community.
Years later, Soaked Without a Girlfriend, already a famous game streamer, recalled the story in an interview, always mentioning one phrase—
“That day... that day, I saw the light...”
But that is a tale for another time, and Xie Jing knew nothing of it.

Right now, he was fully focused, dealing with Anton’s overwhelming presence.
As an Apostle, Anton radiated an explosive aura from head to toe. When you truly faced him, you’d be at a loss for words, crushed beneath that pressure. Players managed to defeat Anton only by exploiting loopholes—using all sorts of tech tricks to cut off power, shut down the black fog, find secret paths to the boss, and ultimately detonating his heart without ever meeting him face-to-face.
And sometimes, you could even score a card worth a few million.
What was this, if not cheating?
If players were forced to fight Anton head-on, tiny humans standing beneath his feet, you’d only be able to sigh—
The turtle’s so huge, you couldn’t stew it in one pot...
You wouldn’t even know where to start cutting.
But now, transformed into a giant over two hundred meters tall, Xie Jing finally had the qualifications to go toe-to-toe with Anton!
A roar, like the unpleasant sound of a plastic bag being torn, warned Xie Jing not to approach.
Light erupted from every part of Anton’s body, energy surging. Xie Jing spread his massive hands, hundreds of beams slicing through the air.
The sea churned under Anton’s movements, black volcanoes on his shell erupting with torrents of lava.
Xie Jing opened his hands, then brought them together in a cross.
Highly concentrated light pierced through the black fog, dispelling a swath of darkness, shooting straight at Anton’s head.
Anton’s roar shook the very air.
He opened his mouth, gathering a torrent of energy, like a tailed beast ball from Naruto, colliding with the beam and causing a thunderous explosion.
On the horizon, a red streak descended.
A colossal meteor hurtled toward Xie Jing.
"Ultraman Flying Kick!"
Even more intense light surged over Xie Jing’s body. He charged in midair, his right foot glowing like the sun.
His form flashed like lightning, no unnecessary flourish. The next second, Anton’s shell erupted in a massive explosion.
Then, Anton’s enormous body moved with unimaginable speed, the meteor descending as promised, engulfing Xie Jing.
Electric arcs crackled over Anton, currents and visible lightning entwining him.
A beam of electricity and fire blasted into the spot where Xie Jing had been floating.
"Ultraman Light Shield!"
From the flames and lightning, Xie Jing’s voice rang out; dazzling light appeared again, forming a protective shell like an eggshell.
The system’s reward added the word "Ultraman" before his skills, enhancing their effects—so the shield held strong against triple attacks.

Flames, electricity.
Across the sea, vapor billowed everywhere, and roasted fish floated, belly-up.
A shimmering light sword appeared in Xie Jing’s hand. Enhanced, its blade grew more than twice its usual size—the searing heat could instantly vaporize huge volumes of seawater.
"Pretty fast!"
Xie Jing smiled slightly. As a turtle boss, he’d long anticipated Anton’s speed wouldn’t be lacking; Apostles weren’t fools, and wouldn’t leave such a glaring weakness unaddressed.
Xie Jing floated in the air, Anton stood atop the sea; only forty or fifty meters separated them.
Xie Jing didn’t move, but leveled his light sword at Anton.
"Grow, grow, grow, grow, grow!"
Anton: ?
Soaked Without a Girlfriend: ?
Spectators crowding the deck: ?
What is this?! Charging up for some ultimate skill?
The onlookers grew excited.
Just as players speculated which Ultraman class skill would be used, they witnessed something jaw-dropping.
The light sword in Xie Jing’s hand burst with astonishing brilliance; its blade instantly stretched across dozens of meters, stabbing fiercely at Anton’s head.
The light sword... grew longer!
Luckily, Anton’s swift reflexes saved him—at the last moment, he withdrew his head, only scraping a bloody gash along one side.
"Roar—"
Anton’s cry seemed to comment on the spectators’ lacking intelligence.
On the deck, the atmosphere fell silent for a moment.
Xie Jing, wielding his hundred-meter-long super light sword, swept it across again.
Thick black fog gathered on Anton, and he swung a dark magical shield toward Xie Jing’s sword.
Blade and shield collided, the piercing sound causing many players to remove their headphones, while the dazzling light turned the gloomy sky bright as midday.
Crack...
The purple-grade light sword finally couldn’t withstand such enormous energy, and after three seconds, broke apart.
The light beam vanished. Xie Jing didn’t hesitate. He closed in, this time targeting Anton’s soft underbelly.
