Musu remained expressionless, ignoring Ling Yu’s gaze as he clutched Zhou Tian’s clothes. "You’ll find out what's wrong with him soon enough," he said.

Ling Yu was bewildered, unable to grasp Musu’s meaning. However, before she could ponder it for long, her attention was seized by a pillar of fire reaching toward the heavens. It was as thick and intense as molten lava, accompanied by plumes of dense black smoke—the ancient trees were burning. Even the extraordinary trees that had grown for countless ages could not withstand the might of such flames, and the earth itself began to tremble.

"Who provoked the Crimson Flame Great Ape?" Ling Yu asked, her voice laced with confusion as she stared at the pillar of fire that lit the surroundings in a deep, crimson hue, as if a giant bronze furnace were burning in the sky.

The Spider Sect operated in the Myriad Gods Mountain Range year-round and had long since thoroughly mapped this branch. They knew exactly which ferocious beasts inhabited which locations. She knew for a fact that only one Crimson Flame Great Ape—a king among beasts and a creature not to be trifled with—resided in that direction. She was deeply curious about who would be bold enough to provoke it.

Musu’s eyes reflected the flickering firelight. He lifted the clothes in his hands, and though he said nothing, his meaning was self-evident.

"He wouldn't possibly..." Ling Yu asked in disbelief, "...strip naked just to provoke the Crimson Flame Great Ape, would he?"

Musu nodded, confirming that his older brother was indeed such a fierce and unyielding man.

Ling Yu gazed at the distant land of fire, various thoughts racing through her mind. No matter how she looked at it, she couldn't fathom why he would need to be naked. Did Zhou Tian have some sort of special method for provocation?

"Aren't you worried he might be in danger?" Ling Yu asked, glancing at Musu, who showed no signs of concern.

The Crimson Flame Great Ape was no ordinary beast. Its ancestors had been companions to a powerful deity, and it was renowned for its immense strength and bloodline inheritance, possessing terrifying divine abilities. It was one of the most famous beasts in the Myriad Gods Mountain Range.

"It would be better if he died," Musu replied bluntly.

"..." Ling Yu was momentarily choked for words. These two were truly insane.

Noticing the young woman’s eyes darting around as she pondered, Musu thought for a moment and said, "You’d better turn around. Zhou Tian might appear at any moment, and I assume you wouldn't want to see him naked."

Ling Yu’s expression shifted. She had no desire to witness that eyesore a second time. She turned away and leaned against a thick, ancient tree.

Musu sighed in relief. Finally, he didn't have to answer the woman's questions; women were such a hassle.

A moment later, Zhou Tian appeared. "You even knew to warn her to hide in advance. That was thoughtful of you, Musu." He took the clothes from Musu’s hands and slipped them on with practiced ease.

Musu was now too lazy to engage with Zhou Tian’s banter. Once Zhou Tian was dressed, he beckoned for Ling Yu to come out.

"Why did you strip naked to provoke the Crimson Flame Great Ape?" Ling Yu asked, feigning indifference. Zhou Tian didn't seem like a man with a broken brain; she felt there must be a secret behind his actions.

"Do you know the most critical prerequisite for becoming the King of Gods?" Zhou Tian asked, his expression solemn as he pondered for a moment.

"What?" Ling Yu’s curiosity was piqued.

"Not prying into other people’s secrets," Zhou Tian said mysteriously.

"What does that have to do with becoming the King of Gods?!" Ling Yu bristled instantly, purple light flashing in her eyes. The Spider Sect was known for its cunning, yet today she had been played by Zhou Tian.

"Then what does me stripping naked have to do with you?" Zhou Tian replied nonchalantly. The colored contacts this girl wore were of poor quality—not nearly as good as those worn by the juniors at Daluo Academy. Her style was far too gaudy.

Ling Yu felt a ball of fire brewing in her chest. He hadn't spoken this way when he was asking about her secrets earlier. "Then why did you ask about my secrets just now?"

"I didn't force you to tell me, did I?"

Ling Yu’s chest heaved with suppressed anger. Remembering her mother’s instructions, she forced herself to calm down and walked off to sulk by herself.

Zhou Tian shrugged. Don't blame me.

They did not linger too long; they still had to continue their journey. According to the map gifted to them when they left the Spider Sect, they still had a long way to go through the Myriad Gods Mountain Range before reaching the Mountain of Myriad Gods.

These remnants of the old sects had truly declined to such a degree that even a top-tier dark sect like the Spider Sect lacked any specialized artifacts for travel, forcing them to rely on their feet.

Though there was now an extra person, their pace had actually increased. Originally, as two grown men, they would have walked and stopped to enjoy the scenery, but now that a woman had joined them, things had changed.

Ling Yu couldn't be bothered to deal with these two perverts, and neither Zhou Tian nor Musu wanted to converse with a chatterbox. Zhou Tian had originally intended to play matchmaker between Ling Yu and Musu, thinking that since Musu had just gone through a major upheaval, his heart was empty and needed someone to fill the void. Zhou Tian believed he had the ability and the duty to help him resolve this.

However, the upbringing Musu had received since childhood meant he viewed Ling Yu through a colored lens; he always felt as if she had eight claws growing out of her back, ready to devour them at any moment, and he had no desire to speak to her at all.

Meanwhile, because Ling Yu’s impression of Zhou Tian was so abysmal, it colored her opinion of Musu as well, causing Zhou Tian’s plans to fall through.

...

A rustling sound arose.

Zhou Tian stripped as usual. After spending this time together, Ling Yu had reached the point where she would automatically turn away the moment Zhou Tian reached for his trousers.

This was the fifth death-defying excursion since leaving the Spider Sect, heading toward the location of a nearby beast king. Having the map obtained from the Spider Sect made things much easier.

"This seems to be the territory of an Amethyst Winged Tiger, hmm?"

Before Zhou Tian had even reached the territory, he felt the earth trembling. Green leaves showered down as if some massive creature were thrashing about.

"Roar!"

A sky-shaking roar erupted. The sound waves were so intense that the nearby ancient trees nearly snapped. A massive figure suddenly leaped into the air, nearly a hundred feet tall. Its body looked as if it were cast from purple crystal, shimmering with divine light, with a pair of wings sprouting from its ribs. It was incredibly majestic, but it was currently bound tightly by several thick, pitch-black chains. These chains were engraved with profound patterns that absorbed the surrounding light, even siphoning away the purple radiance from the tiger’s body.

Before Zhou Tian could give it much thought, several more figures soared into the air. They were dressed in black robes that obscured their features. There were six of them, each pulling on a black chain, their energy surging as they poured it endlessly into the restraints.

The Amethyst Winged Tiger erupted with divine light, its roar nearly shattering the space around it. Profound runes appeared upon its crystalline body, and energy pulsed within, stimulating the power hidden in the deepest parts of its being.
