Chapter Twenty-One: Being My Girlfriend Means Learning How to Spend Money
Ten minutes later, Qin Nuanyu finally confirmed once again—Yang Xiaofan was truly a freak.
He spent half the day playing on his phone, yet didn’t miss a single point in class. Even someone like Qin Nuanyu, who had always been at the top of her class, couldn’t help but admire such a mind!
Seeing that the class monitor was feeling a little down after being outdone, Yang Xiaofan pinched her cheek and smiled, “Today is the day we made our relationship official. Don’t dwell on this—come on, let’s go shopping.”
Qin Nuanyu nodded.
After tidying up, the two of them walked outside. When Qin Nuanyu saw the Ferrari parked under the teaching building, she couldn’t help but take an extra look. It seemed that no woman could truly resist the allure of a supercar.
Yang Xiaofan squinted and grinned, “Do you like sports cars, class monitor?”
Qin Nuanyu nodded. “They have really beautiful designs.”
“What if a rich heir with a sports car tried to chase after you?” Yang Xiaofan teased.
Qin Nuanyu rolled her eyes at him. “I like sports cars, sure, but I’m not a gold-digger, okay? If owning a sports car was enough to win me over, I’d have been swept away long ago.”
Yang Xiaofan nodded. That was true. Back in their freshman year, the line of rich heirs trying to pursue Qin Nuanyu could have stretched a kilometer, yet she hadn’t accepted a single one.
“Oh, right, Xiaofan—where’s your car?” Qin Nuanyu rose on tiptoe and looked around, but didn’t see his car anywhere, leaving her puzzled.
Yang Xiaofan’s lips curled into a smile. “It’s right here.”
“???”
Qin Nuanyu frowned even more. She wasn’t blind—how could she miss a big BMW?
Just as she was growing confused, Yang Xiaofan flashed a mischievous grin, pulled out the Ferrari’s keys, and pressed the button. The Ferrari’s horn sounded, its lights flashed, and Qin Nuanyu stood frozen in place.
Was she dreaming? Was this Ferrari actually Yang Xiaofan’s?
How could this be real!
Wasn’t his car supposed to be a BMW M5? How did it become a Ferrari overnight? This was unbelievable!
Pointing at the Ferrari, Qin Nuanyu stared blankly at Yang Xiaofan. “You… you… this car is yours!”
Yang Xiaofan nodded. “To be precise, it’s ours! If you marry me in the future, both the car and I will belong to you!”
“You’re joking, right? You must have rented this car.”
Yang Xiaofan gave a wry smile. “This car is brand new, not even registered yet. What dealership would rent something like this?”
“But… but… it’s so expensive.”
“It’s not too bad. After taxes and everything, it’s only about five or six million.”
Qin Nuanyu’s face twitched hard. Five or six million—and Yang Xiaofan said it so casually, as if it didn’t pain him at all!
But soon, her expression grew serious as she asked, “Xiaofan, don’t tell me you spent all your lottery winnings on these two cars?”
Yang Xiaofan felt both amused and exasperated. “What kind of person do you think I am? If I only had that much money, I wouldn’t have blown it all on cars!”
After a pause, he said, “Alright, I’ll come clean. I’m the artist who paints on the school walls. My paintings can sell for millions each.”
Now that Qin Nuanyu was his girlfriend, Yang Xiaofan saw no reason to hide anything.
What he didn’t expect was that this revelation would hit Qin Nuanyu’s mind like a bomb, stirring up a storm inside her that wouldn’t settle.
The first time she’d glimpsed Yang Xiaofan’s talents was at the shooting game outside school. His marksmanship had stunned her. Later, when he won the lottery, she hadn’t thought much of it—she wasn’t a shallow gold-digger. But then, at the KTV, hearing him sing had shocked her again—his voice was on par with top music stars of the day.
After that, when Yang Xiaofan handled Liu Hu and displayed his formidable physical skills, she’d been left amazed once more. Even just now in class, his memory seemed superhuman.
And now… Yang Xiaofan had told her he was the artist who caused such a stir on campus, and that his paintings sold for millions.
Qin Nuanyu felt her mind could no longer stay calm.
Yang Xiaofan waved his hand in front of her. “Class monitor, are you alright?”
Snapping out of her daze, Qin Nuanyu stared hard at Yang Xiaofan and couldn’t help but say, “You really are a monster!”
Yang Xiaofan scratched the back of his head and gave an embarrassed laugh. “Not really.”
“Yang Xiaofan, just how many more secrets are you keeping from me?”
“That’s all. What you’ve seen so far is about it.”
Qin Nuanyu frowned. “What do you mean, ‘so far’?”
“Uh… cough… nothing, really, that’s all I know.”
Her face twitched again. He called these heaven-defying abilities ‘just a little something’? Was he mocking the rest of them?
“Ahem…” After being stared at by the class monitor for so long, even Yang Xiaofan felt awkward. “So, shall we go?”
“Alright!” Qin Nuanyu didn’t fuss any more.
If she’d known Yang Xiaofan drove a Ferrari before agreeing to date him, she might not have accepted his pursuit—she didn’t want to seem superficial. But she’d only learned about the Ferrari after becoming his girlfriend. So her conscience was clear!
Sitting in the Ferrari, Qin Nuanyu couldn’t help but tremble. This was a supercar worth millions—she wasn’t materialistic, but her heart still raced when she sat down. This car was basically a walking fortune!
“Ready? Let’s go,” Yang Xiaofan said, hitting the gas and speeding straight to the largest shopping mall in northern Jiangsu.
There, every luxury brand had its own counter—a true furnace for burning money.
Arriving, Qin Nuanyu looked at him in confusion. “Why did you bring me here?”
“Of course, to buy you some gifts. You’re my girlfriend now—how could I not get you some designer brands, given how good I am at making money?”
Qin Nuanyu blushed. “Hey! Who’s your wife?”
“Oh? Maybe I should help you remember last night…”
“Are you looking to die?” Qin Nuanyu thumped his chest. This guy always knew how to tease her about the things she found most embarrassing, never feeling the slightest shame.
“We shouldn’t come to places like this. Everything’s so expensive. I just can’t bear it.”
Yang Xiaofan’s heart warmed—the more Qin Nuanyu tried to save him money, the more he wanted to spend on her. Tweaking her nose gently, he smiled, “Silly girl, being my girlfriend means you have to learn how to spend!”
